Sunny Armenia (4 days / 3 nights)

Day 2: Yerevan, Garni Temple, Symphony of Stones, Geghard, Lavash Baking Masterclass, Azat Gorge, Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Kotayk Province to explore some of Armenia's most famous historical and natural landmarks. The first stop is Garni Temple, the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia and the entire Caucasus region. Built in the 1st century AD by King Trdat I and dedicated to the sun god Mithra, Garni stands perched on the edge of a picturesque gorge as an outstanding example of Hellenistic architecture and one of the country's most visited monuments. From here, magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and gorges open up. Next is a descent into the famous Garni Gorge to visit the "Symphony of Stones" natural monument. This unique geological formation consists of huge basalt columns forming regular hexagons that resemble the pipes of a giant organ. Created by nature millions of years ago, these cliffs are considered one of Armenia's most impressive natural wonders. The next stop is Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Founded in the 4th century, this monastic complex is partially carved directly into the rock face and is celebrated as a masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture. The name of the monastery is connected with the Holy Spear, which according to tradition was used to pierce Jesus Christ. Unique acoustics, ancient chapels, and a spiritual atmosphere make Geghard one of Armenia's most significant religious centers. Following the excursion, guests will enjoy a traditional Armenian lavash baking masterclass. Participants can try making lavash themselves and taste it fresh right out of the underground oven (tonir). After the masterclass, an easy hike begins through the scenic Azat River Gorge. The route winds through rocky landscapes, natural terraces, and green stretches of the valley. During the walk, magnificent views of surrounding mountains and basalt canyons unfold. The trail is suitable for people with average physical fitness and requires no special equipment. Return to Yerevan afterwards. Overnight at a hotel in Yerevan.
